La Ley N° 12.244, publicada en la edición de este martes en el Diario Oficial de la Unión, alcanza tanto a instituciones públicas como privadas, y estipula que cada biblioteca debe tener, como mínimo, un título por cada alumno matriculado.
“Será obligatorio un acervo de libros en la biblioteca de, como mínimo, un título por cada alumno matriculado, quedando al respectivo sistema de enseñanza determinar la ampliación de este acervo según su realidad”, establece uno de los artículos de la nueva ley.
El texto considera biblioteca escolar a “toda colección de libros, materiales videográficos y documentos registrados en cualquier soporte destinados a consultas, pesquisas, estudio o lectura”.
La norma prevé un plazo máximo de diez años para la universalización de las bibliotecas escolares.
